| Just in time for the good driving weather! This 1962 soft-top delete car was body-on restored in the early 70s and then used as a display in a liquor store for over 25 years. It has a rust free frame and no-hit body (very hard to find these days!) with very good paint (there is some lacquer cracking, but this can't be seen from 5 feet away and can be fixed with some light wet sanding).
The engine is a 1967 327 service block with Hi-Po heads (I have a pair of date correct 461X heads that will go with the car), solid lifters and high lift cam. The intake manifold is date correct 300HP and the car has the proper Carter AFB carb. It has a proper high output exhaust with crossover pipe and OEM off-road mufflers. Transmission is a 1967 Muncie 4 speed with Hurst shifter.
Interior is Fawn. Wonderbar radio is present but inoperative. Tach does not work (the distributor does not have the proper drive for the tach cable) and fuel gauge does not work (I have a new sender waiting to be installed).
I have purchased a new jack, lug wrench and jack handle, proper painted valve covers with 327 emblems and proper air cleaner which will go with the car (air cleaner is pictured on the engine).
This car is a super driver just waiting to become a show car. Drive it as-is or invest some sweat equity and watch the value really go up! |
