This is a great looking and driving '72 convertible that needs very little to be a show-winning car. Paint is overall very good with just the slightest hint of orange peel in a few areas and the common rivet dimples on the front clip near the headlights. No other obvious blemishes were found in the paint. The convertible top is older with some discoloration and scratches in the rear window, but no tears or rips are present at this time. Weatherstripping also appears older and is a little dry-rotted in some places, although it is intact and should function well. Exterior door handles appear to be original and are not perfect, but nonetheless work fine with good return springs. A set of rally wheels with very good condition trim rings and center caps are mounted to a brand new set of radial whitewall tires. Rear chrome bumpers are brand new; original front bumper is in very good condition with minimal patina. Luggage rack has been replaced with a stainless steel unit, which is in excellent condition. Leather seat covers show some minor wear and stiffness from age, but are nonetheless in very good condition with no rips or tears. Driver's door panel is in average original condition; passenger side is good to very good. Center console is in good condition with no cracks or other major issues. Dash pad looks great with no cracks or warping. Gauges are in overall good shape, although the redline is slightly faded on the tachometer. Steering wheel is also in good shape with no cracks or significant wear. A Custom Auto Sound cassette deck has been installed, replacing the original AM/FM radio. Correct style loop carpet is present, and shows well with no fading or wear areas. Correct GM seatbelts are also currently installed. The original engine has been very nicely detailed, and wears a correct style Quadrajet carburetor as well as correct ignition shielding. We have spent thousands on repairs on this 1972 Corvette Convertible since we have had it, including spark plugs, sun visors, luggage rack, chrome bumpers, fuel door emblem, front seal (transmission), a/c compressor, exhaust system, rear carpet, power steering cylinder, alternator, storage bins, tires, shift cable, battery cable, gas tank, water pump, hoses, power steering pump, rearview mirror, and horn. Factory options on this car include power steering, AM/FM radio, air conditioning, and tilt-n-tele. |
