Numbers matching 200hp 350ci engine, automatic transmission, posi rear-end. This classy black '72 represents an excellent value in a very nice driver that could be a show car with some minor work. Assembled on August 23, 1971, this Corvette's trim tag shows paint code 988. Paint on this car looks to be a few years old, but still has a nice shine with minor stress cracks in the usual places. Chrome bumpers are probably original, and show wear typical of 38 year old chrome. The chrome door handles also look to be original, but have strong return springs and only minor pitting. This car is fitted with a luggage rack, which is showing some pitting. Weatherstripping appears to be older as well and has become somewhat brittle, but is nonetheless mostly intact. Original taillights show some normal hairline cracks. This 1972 Corvette wears rally wheels, which appear to be in good condition with nice shiny trim rings and center caps. The interior of this car is very nice overall, with no items in need of immediate attention. Seat covers look older, but are in good condition with no rips or tears, and the door panels look very nice as well. Center console is in good condition with no cracks, and the dash pad is crack free also. Carpet is correct loop style, and looks to be very recent with no fading or extensive wear. Gauges look nice with relatively clear lenses and minimal fading. A vintage Kenwood cassette stereo has been added, with no cuts being made to the dash during its installation. The engine in this 1972 Corvette shows a casting date of August 11, 1971, and the frame appears to be rust-free as well. This car represents an excellent value in a bumper year Corvette, so we are expecting plenty of phone calls on this one!
