The Engine Story
The car left St. Louis plant equipped with GM's optional L76 327/365 powerplant — confirmed by the factory-correct 6,500 RPM red-line tachometer and 80 lb. oil pressure gauge still under the hood. The current 327 has been rebuilt to full 365 specification by Jim Grubbs Motorsports of Valencia, CA, a shop with a reputation that needs no introduction in the Corvette community. Cam, valves, block, and heads were all addressed. Headers and a Mallory/MFD ignition system round out the package, delivering crisp, period-correct performance that's as satisfying in the twisties as it is at a concours.
The Restoration
This car received a ground-up, off-frame restoration with the kind of obsessive attention to detail that separates a true restoration from a repaint. We're talking new windshield wiper nipples. A replaced glove compartment liner. When someone sweats those details, you can trust the big stuff was done right too. Every system — headlights, gauges, instruments, horn, clock — is fully operational. The car was recently serviced with fresh oil, filter, and lubrication.
The Hardtop
