I have owned this Corvette since Nov 10, 2005, with 59,600 original miles. I did a complete front-end restoration in 2006-07 to include brakes, suspension, steering, exhaust, tires and other miscellaneous parts totaling upwards of $10K (list of work done included below). Many of the parts during that front end restoration I media blasted, and powder coated myself (www.rimzcoat.com ) . At that time, the car received numerous awards to include Best of Show, First Places, and Outstanding in Class and Winner at the 2007-2010 Super Chevy Shows at Maple Grove Raceway. The car was repainted over 25 years ago with lacquer factory color and shows signs of some chips and spider cracks, along with the need for front bumper replacement (which cracked during 5 years in storage 2018-2023). The interior is original and shows signs of carpet discoloration and recommend replacing rear due to wear. There is a compact CD player in rear passenger compartment which no longer works. The car was in storage for 5 years and over the past 2 years, nearly $6K was invested in repairs. As of present, the only mechanic work needed is 2 transmission seals which leak (est. $400). As with all/most C3’s, the engine/header set up does emit heat into the interior compartment and recommend installing heat shields at the firewall and flooring. The car runs solid and the L48 is very responsive as the TH-400 transmission with 3:08 Posi gears.
I assembled a Google Photo album showing current condition of body, engine compartment, and undercarriage. Also included are copies of repair orders over the past 2 years. Receipt file also available for 2006-07 front end restoration.
