| Anyone who has wanted a special anniversary edition Corvette will appreciate this 1988 35th Anniversary model built to commemorate the 35th year of Corvette production. Chevrolet decided to set these cars apart from the others by using a white color theme, and so they painted them white and included these items:
• White leather seats
• White leather steering wheel
• White wheels, and
• White exterior emblems
• Two removable hard tops
Corvette enthusiasts will appreciate the condition of this low mileage car – only 21,667 original miles. It is numbered 0151 out of 2050 produced. The car comes with its laminated original “build sheet” & the original owner’s manual. The digital cluster instrument panel works flawlessly.
This Anniversary model also includes the very rare GM part number 10051200 Aero Kit – a ground effects kit that was styled after the IMSA GTO Corvettes. This kit was dealer installed and came with its own window sticker showing a price of $2,317.50. Painting and installation brought the cost up to the mid $4,000 range. I have a copy of the window sticker for this kit. This kit was only sold to individuals purchasing 1988 corvettes. I’ve been told this kit was only sold for about six months. Note the unique “shark” side panels behind the front wheels. I personally have seen about 15 GM Aero Kit fitted 1988 Corvettes but never have seen another 35th Anniversary model with it. Also included with the car is the second removable hard top. The blue see-through version was used throughout the life of the car and the conventional hard top (not see-through) has never been used on the car.
One final note about the car. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Gordon Killebrew – Corvette Hall of Fame Member {Inducted 2007} and attending his C4 school in Tennessee. Gordon worked on this car and was kind enough to autograph the underside of the hood for me. A detailed maintenance history comes along with the car. Asking price is $17,900. Thanks for looking.
