Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is proud to present this 1968 Chevrolet Corvette, a classic American sports car that brings together unmistakable Corvette styling, V8 performance, and an extensive restoration history. Finished in a striking red exterior over a black vinyl interior, this Corvette has the presence to turn heads before the key is even turned. Add in a 350-horsepower 327 CID V8, a 4-speed manual transmission, and a 3.55:1 Positraction rear end, and you have a Corvette that is every bit as engaging from behind the wheel as it is to admire. At the heart of this Corvette is a 327 CID V8 producing 350 horsepower, paired with a 4-speed manual transmission that puts the driver directly in control. The 3.55:1 Positraction rear end helps put that V8 power to the pavement, while power steering and power brakes provide added convenience behind the wheel. This Corvette also retains several desirable factory features, including original cruise control, air conditioning, and power windows. The story gets even more interesting when you look at the restoration. Completed in 2019, the restoration was extensive, and the Corvette has accumulated only approximately 3,000 miles since the work was completed. Better yet, this is a very well-documented car, with records detailing the work that went into bringing the mechanical components back to life. The restoration included a rebuilt engine, rebuilt transmission, new clutch, new oil pump, new gas tank, rebuilt distributor, rebuilt carburetor, rebuilt steering gearbox, new timing chain, and rebuilt suspension. This level of documentation gives the next owner an opportunity to see the substantial amount of work that went into this Corvette rather than simply hearing about it. The attention to detail continued after the restoration as well. In 2024, additional work included a new water pump and attention to the emergency brake. The air conditioning compressor was also replaced, and the A/C system was brought back to factory specifications. With its documented restoration history and subsequent maintenance, this Corvette has a story that goes well beyond its beautiful red paint. Slide behind the wheel, row the 4-speed through the gears, and the character of the 327 V8 becomes the centerpiece of the experience. The combination of classic Corvette proportions, a manual transmission, Positraction rear end, and 350 horsepower gives this car the kind of old-school driving experience that modern sports cars simply cannot duplicate. Whether you're a longtime Corvette enthusiast, a collector looking for a well-documented example, or simply someone who appreciates the sound and feel of a classic V8 with a manual transmission, this 1968 Corvette deserves a closer look. With approximately 3,000 miles since its 2019 restoration, desirable factory equipment, extensive mechanical work, and documentation to back it all up, this is a Corvette with plenty to talk about. 1968 Chevrolet Corvette is listed by our Houston Showroom and can be viewed in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com.
