1954 Convertible - 1954 BLACK CORVETTE RESTO-MOD ROADSTER

Black with Red interior: LS1 / 4 speed automatic - 1432 miles

Black w/Red interior, LS1, 4-spd. automatic transmission.

This awesome ’54 was created by Darwin Clark, a retired GM executive of 45 years as VP General Manager of Industry Dealer Affairs. He had a long career of car collecting and restoring vintage GM automobiles. Darwin had a quest to build the ultimate 1954 Corvette complete with an untouched original body and the perfect blend of power and handling. It was in 2001 that he purchased the vehicle to start his project. He chose the Newman car creations C4 chassis and components to use as the foundation of the vehicle. The power plant was a 1998 LS1 Chevy small block. Accessory pulleys came from March performance while the cooling was upgraded with a Be Cool radiator. Stainless steel exhaust system using 2 1/2-inch tubing with Flowmaster mufflers. Replacing the original transmission with the 4L60E with a modified Lokar shifter, mated to an aluminum driveshaft.Ex GM designer Steve Pasteiner, proprietor of Advanced Automotive Technologies in Rochester Hills Michigan carefully oversaw the complete and meticulous preparation for paint where the panel alignment was painstakingly gapped to 3/16 of an inch of perfection.

The seating position, which is most important because of a confined original cockpit, was addressed for comfort by dropping the seats downward and rearward to accommodate talker body types.

Instrument cluster and gauges were updated using Auto Meter white faced dials.

Special styling cues included a custom armrest, and other hand fabricated items which were the crowning jewels of the interior.

This project began in approximately 2002. The article that I am reading is from Popular Hot Rodding magazine, January 2005.

Beautifully custom designed and detailed under hood to echo the period Motorama Show cars. The “Harley Earl feel” was further accomplished with the custom interior, featuring the one-off center console and armrest as well as the French seam and custom sculpted seats, allowing for a 6’2″ person to drive the car comfortably.

Rear view mirrors are characteristic of the GM period show cars thus, also helping create more of the “Harley Earl feel”. The original steering wheel was replaced by a smaller diameter custom stitched unit.

All of the body gaps were meticulously done to 3/16 of an inch.

The rear bumpers were welded, and metal finished into single units and fit snug to the body.

A 2.5-inch custom stainless-steel exhaust, with Flowmaster mufflers, custom drive shaft is among several other special parts which were done for this car.

The ’54 rides on classic Halibrand style wheels similar to the Indy cars of the period with 245/50ZR16 on all four corners.

In 2004 the car won the “Best in Class” as well as “Best Sports” in show at the Detroit Autorama and has appeared in several magazine articles.

It was also displayed at the Corvette Museum, as well as at General Motors Tech Center. The car was displayed next to the world’s most valuable Corvette, the original 1959 Sting Ray.

1954 Convertible - 1954 Polo White Corvette Roadster

White with Red interior: 235/155hp L6 / 2 speed automatic - 11734 miles

Polo White w/Red interior, 235/155hp L6, Powerglide automatic transmission.

Going into its second year of production, Corvette was basically unchanged from the previous year, with the exception of some additional color choices, a Tan soft top in place of the Black one and some minor engine tweaks.

If you wanted to see the restoration of a ’54 Corvette taken to its highest degree, then look no further than the Polo White example presented right here!

This is a Corvette worthy of a Concours D’Elegance. It was restored with the idea of ironing out all of the rough edges early Corvettes are known for. The paint is near perfect, as is the interior. Under the hood is a 12-volt electrical system that enable the car to start up quickly and easily. Even the gaps around the hood, doors and trunk are aligned with precision! and the underside is just as nice as the top side!

The owner spared no expense in making this the best ’54 you’ve ever laid your eyes on!

1965 Convertible - 1965 Maroon F.I. Corvette Convertible

Milano Maroon with Saddle interior: L84 / 4-Speed manual - 41123 miles

Milano Maroon w/Saddle interior, L84 327/375hp F.I. 4-spd.

There was some much to choose from across the board for the ’65 model year! The big three were offering a multitude of sports and performance cars. And Corvette was (as usual) at the top of the heap!

The amount of engine choices was overwhelming and wonderful! Everything from a base 327ci small block producing 250hp all the way up to the mighty 396ci big block producing 425hp. But if you were in the market for the ultimate small block, the L84 “fuelie” was definitely the way to go! And it was also the last year you could get it! This engine was equipped with mechanical fuel injection and lifters and produced a hi-revving 375hp! Performance was exhilarating to say the least. And it was very rare with only 771 units built in ’65!

This stunning Milano Maroon example featured here was lovingly restored and cared for by its previous owners. Extensive records were kept (3 binders full) of its restoration and care over the decades. The Milano Maroon exterior is perfectly complemented by the rich looking Saddle interior. And it also happens to be a fantastic driver! And driving it is where all the fun takes place!

Options include am/fm radio, power windows, telescoping steering column, side exhaust and aluminum knock off wheels.

1961 Convertible - Beautiful Retro-mod, power and looks!

Candy Apple Red with Black interior: 383 / 4-speed manual - 67000 miles

Welcome to THE VETTE NET, the most experienced online Corvette broker service (founded in 1998). Whether you are buying or selling a Vette, we offer you our extensive knowledge and commitment to help make your transaction pleasant and professional. The Vette Net is a proud Lifetime Business Member of the National Corvette Museum.

We are pleased to bring to your attention a very fine example of the first generation of Corvettes (1953-1962) which went through an extensive cosmetic and performance upgrade, the result being an exquisite time machine with classic look and modern performance.

It started with a "regular" 1961 Fuelie Corvette and, now it features a recent "Candy Apple Red" dual stage show quality high end paint.

Engine is a fresh crate 383 ported, with a dual four-barrel Holley carburetor setup. HP is not known, but similar applications are known to push out 400 ponies (+) pretty easily. It comes with Pro-headers, Aluminum high-rise intake, Edelbrock valve covers... Engine is highly detailed with lots of polished parts as seen in pics. Note that car is endowed with a modern AC system with ducts seamlessly fitted inside the cabin and controls using factory set-up. Has custom exhaust, rear air shocks, short throw shift linkage, front Wilwood disk brakes, drum rear brakes. Check out the US MAG custom wheels, adding a mild custom look, riding on hi-performance BFG tires looking like new. Undercarriage is clean and nicely detailed.

Interior is all newly re-upholstered to excellent condition. All gauges, instruments, clock and radio are fully functional. The quality of the paint, Chrome, rubber parts, etc is excellent. Note that the car comes with a painted hard top, also with new Black soft top. Mileage show 67K now which are likely correct, since car was sold in 2007 at Barrett-Jackson with 63K miles stated as "actual".

It would be hard to replicate a similar car for the money, so this is your chance to enjoy a performance “Retro-mod” preserving the look, but with added reliability. It comes to you from an enthusiast in FLORIDA and can be shipped all over the country and worldwide. Financing assistance provided by clicking on this link.

1961 Convertible - 1961 Roman Red Corvette Convertible

Roman Red with Red interior: 350ci ZZ6 / 4 Speed manual - 83004 miles

Roman Red w/Red interior, 350ci ZZ6, 4-spd. manual transmission.

The ’61 Corvette marked the 4th major body modification for the first-generation Corvette. Gone was the rounded back end with molded in taillights. In its place was a more angular rear which incorporated 4 round taillights right above the twin rare bumpers. This design was foreshadowing what was to come when the all-new 3rd generation Corvette was introduced for ’63! Another change was the removal of the “teeth” in the front grille. Replaced with a smoother mesh.

This very sharp ’61 started out its life as a Jewell Blue factory fuelie. But its previous owner was looking for something a bit more user friendly to drive around in, so it was decided to replace the F.I. engine with a GM ZZ6 hi performance create engine. He also wanted to change the color combination to Roman Red w/Red interior. So that’s what was done! The work having been completely within the last six months. The result is a beautiful and dependable ’61 that has excellent performance to match!

P.S. The original engine and fuel injection system is included with the sale for those who may ever consider returning the car to its original condition! Also included is a freshly painted hardtop to match the new black soft top, as well as the original brakes, headers, “yellow” collector California license plates and an assortment of additional hubcaps and even an additional Wonder Bar radio!

1957 Convertible - 1957 VENETIAN RED CORVETTE F.I. CONVERTI

Red with Red interior: F.I. 283 / 4 Speed manual - 62000 miles

This 1957 Chevrolet Corvette is powered by a fuel-injected 283ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in red over red vinyl. Equipment includes a white convertible soft top, windshield washers, seat belts, a heater, and an AM radio. The current owner reportedly acquired the car circa 1999, and subsequent work is said to have included a rebuild of the Rochester mechanical fuel injection system. This C1 is now offered in California on dealer consignment with a New Hampshire title in the owner’s name.
The car is finished in red with matching coves, and exterior equipment includes a white convertible soft top, windshield washers, a wrap-around windshield, a rear fender-mounted antenna, chrome front and rear bumperettes, and dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear bumper uprights. Blemishes in the finish can be seen close-up in the gallery below.
The 15" steel wheels wear covers with faux knock-off spinners and are wrapped in BFGoodrich Silvertown whitewall tires. The car came equipped from the factory with an independent front suspension and semi-elliptical rear leaf springs. Braking is handled by drums at each corner.
The cabin features twin bucket seats trimmed in red vinyl along with a color-coordinated dash, carpets, and door panels. Equipment includes seat belts, a heater, a signal-seeking AM radio, a floor-mounted shifter, a clock, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror. The carpets show wear in the driver’s footwell.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, and center-mounted instrumentation consists of a tachometer, an ammeter, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 62k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 283ci V8 features Rochester Ramjet mechanical fuel injection and was factory rated at 283 horsepower. The fuel injection system was reportedly rebuilt under current ownership.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Corrosion is visible on underside components.
The New Hampshire title carries an Antique Vehicle brand.

1959 Convertible - 1960 Chevrolet Corvetter - 2659 Tampa

Horizon Blue with Black interior: 283ci V8 / 4-speed Manual - 2,701 miles

Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa offers this clean 1960 Corvette. 1960 was a carry-over year for the Corvette from a styling and trim perspective. Yet the Corvette was gaining in sales and profitability year after year. While Chevrolet saw no need to fiddle with the styling, they did feel what was under the skin warranted improvement. For the hi-po "Fuelie" engines, there was more power and valvetrain upgrades, for the lower level engines carb and power increases. The chassis the brakes were upgraded and improvements were made for better handling. This 1960 Corvette has aged into it's last restoration. The seller claims the car was done years ago. Now the car presents as a nice survivor, with a healthy 283 V8 backed by a four speed manual. Overall it runs and drives well. The Horizon Blue paint looks good with only minor flaws in the usual areas. The chrome is very presentable with few pits and a good luster. The black interior is rip free and sports an AM/FM radio or convince. The white roof is solid and overall the car would make a nice driver or easy restoration project. Hurry and make this unique 1960 Corvette yours!
