Please Text Eric directly at 720-839-15sevenseven with any questions about this beautiful Corvette.

I am proud to offer this numbers-matching 1982 Corvette in fantastic condition with only 43,000 original miles. This Corvette looks amazing, runs great, and is an excellent driver. The Dark Clarett paint with Maroon interior is a very beautiful and desirable color combination that looks stunning on the car. The trim tag codes verify that it is also the correct and original color scheme.

This is a great car show, Corvette. If you are into car shows or want to do the car show circuit. This car is just right for it. Super clean inside and out. You’ll be proud to park this Corvette next to any other great car there.
I’ve just cut the price ridiculously low, which is well under what the car is worth. There is nothing wrong with it. I just want to move it to some lucky new owner who will get a great car for a great price.

In addition to the brand-new paint, this Corvette is loaded with options, such as glass T-tops, a power seat, power mirrors, and tilt and telescopic steering.
Besides the correct paint and trim codes, this Corvette is "Numbers Matching" and almost every part we checked on the car is correct with the proper part numbers and appropriate date codes. The last six digits of the VIN, 103487, are stamped on the engine pad, and the engine is original to the car.

This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Corvette that is ready to be driven and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come, as the Corvette market from 1980 through 1982 is strong and on the rise. The 1980 to 1982 model years draw a good premium over other late C3 Corvettes, especially for high-quality low mileage examples like this car. Please look closely at the car to understand how nice, clean, and original this Corvette is.

Exterior

The Dark Clarett exterior is in great condition. As one can see, the finish has a terrific gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely. The car shows great panel fit/gap overall. The BF GoodRich white letter tires are in excellent shape and have plenty of life left. They are correctly sized 225/70R15. There are no major imperfections, and this could be termed a one-foot paint, as you have to look closely for any imperfections in the paint. It has not been waxed since the repaint, and all one would need to do to seal this spectacular paint is a coat of acrylic polish.

Interior

The Maroon interior of this Corvette is in very good condition. The gauge faces are crisp and clean, and the lenses are clear. The carpet is in excellent shape and shows very little fading. The dash and console look great, with no cracks or sun fading. Overall, the door panels are in great shape, and the door pulls are solid and intact. Unlike many other C3 Corvettes, the door panels also fit well and tight to the door. The seats are in excellent shape and look just as great in person, with minimal tears in the typical area on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. Please note that these are the original seats and skins, not some cheap covers or aftermarket replacements. The original radio is still in the car, and most importantly, the dash has never been cut for an aftermarket installation. Please note that both seat belts work and retract properly. This is a common problem on C3 Corvettes and an issue many buyers do not think to check. Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well over time, and the excellent condition of this original interior is a huge testament to the overall condition of this Corvette, which is another great verification of the low original mileage.

Mechanical

This Corvette is in very good mechanical condition. The numbers matching the L83 engine starts immediately every time, run well, and idles smoothly. The 1982 Chevrolet Corvette came with the L83 engine, which is a 350 cubic inch (5.7 L) V8 engine with 200 horsepower (149 kW) and 285 lb. ft. of torque (386 N m). It has a 9:1 compression ratio and is front-mounted at a 90° angle. The L83 engine was the only option available during production of the 1982 Corvette.
It drives great and feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. It drives straight and stops straight. There are no strange noises or vibrations, and the car performs well overall. This Corvette has plenty of power and is quite fast. The transmission shifts smoothly throughout the power band. The car runs cool and does not overheat. Also, the engine compartment with the original ignition shielding, original air cleaner, smog pump, catalytic converter, and correct finned aluminum valve covers are all still in place. See the work done on the car at the bottom of the description.

The horn works, as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, dash lights, indicators, power windows, power mirrors in every direction, rear defrost, and wipers. All of the gauges work except the clock. The blower for the heater works at all speeds. The radio works. The vacuum system for the headlights works correctly with no effort or binding in the mechanism. Also, the headlights go up properly with either the headlight switch or the vacuum override switch. The power seat works. Not enough can be said about how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the T-tops out on a beautiful day.

Also, for any 1982 Corvette you may look at, verify that the "check engine" light is working correctly. The light should go on when the key is turned on to confirm that it is working, then quickly go off when the car is started. A great number of these 1982 Corvettes have had. After searching 1980 Corvettes out there for sale I have adjusted my price to reflect what I believe to be a one of a kind 1980 Corvette. I can not find a nicer, more original example. There are lesser cars out there that are priced higher. Literally every similar car I find has issues. It's been painted, engines swapped, parts missing, etc. My little red Corvette is special. If you don't think so or can't appreciate the investment quality of my car, just move on to another one. If you want an ALL ORIGINAL, MATCHING NUMBERS car, read on.

Air conditioning is now working! Had a tech put in 4 cans of R12 and new AC Delco pressure switch. Blows cold. He said it leaked out around the compressor seal from lack of use and sitting. 2nd owners only drove it 150 miles a year. Also, electric locks are working as well, new plug on driver's side switch. Only the clock and the 8-track does not work on this car, both easy fixes. New quartz clock is $209 at Corvette Central. 8-track costs about $200, if you add blue tooth and other upgrades cost is more, I will leave that up to the new owner.

I've had a few inquiries asking about the mileage. In the description I am explaining why the title has exempt on it. I have receipts/documentation showing the actual mileage through the years plus the condition of the car, ie the original tires for one, shows it has 20,784 actual miles. The previous owner had it for 40 years and only drove it to local car shows.

I bought this Corvette from the second owner. Beautiful and desirable red on red L82 with 230 horse power (base cars had 190 hp). This is a survivor, unaltered in any way since it was built. Matching numbers. It doesn't get any better than this, the one you've been waiting for. Probably one of the most original and correct 1980 Corvettes out there. ONE OF THE LAST L82 powered Corvettes to be made, built in the last month of production for 1980 Corvettes. L82 option was no longer available after 1980. All 1981's came with the L81 with 190 hp. The car is in amazing condition for being 43 years old. Original paint, never wrecked. Original tires and yes, they are cracking from age. Perfect for shows but not for long trips. The original air filter was still in the car and will be included. Spare tire may not have been used, still has nubs, but is also cracking. Jack is in it's place. Smog pump present. Paint shines as well as enamel can shine. Even from the factory when new the paint on these cars was not that good. This car was built in St. Louis in the last month of production in August of 1980. Chevrolet switched to base coat/clear coat in the new Bowling Green plant for 1981. Minor cracking and checking of the paint is normal for these cars. There are some chips and a scratch, watch the videos. Wheels are mint with zero curb rash or loss of finish. Interior is 99%. Original dated T-top bags, look unused. Radio works but I can't get a tape to play. Dash is nice and not cracked. Power windows zip up and down as fast as any car I've had. Original floor mats and 2 sets of keys. Never anything painted, not on the body or on the engine. The shiny black on the air cleaner is original. It's hard to find a C3 that has not had some kind of work, this one is the exception. True investment quality.

To start it when cold you pump it, runs a bit cold natured until warmed up. Since the air filter was never changed you can bet the carb has had no one work on it either. Probably still has the original spark plugs. Plug wires are original because I can see the date on them. These are things that could be changed to make the car run smoother but I'll leave that to the next owner. It is a candidate for Survivor certification at some Corvette shows. I see several 1980 Corvettes that have been painted or modified, this car is as original as you will find, and it's a red on red L82! New tires would be an improvement over the old hard tires, again, that is up to the new owner. Original owner's manual and glovebox stuff including the warranty card, filled in by the first owner. Original dealer's copy spec sheet showing how the car was optioned and prices. Several receipts over the years of various maintenance work. The car pulled to the right when driving and also while braking. I had an alignment done and installed new front brake calipers, pads, and hoses. Drives straight and stops straight. Transmission shifts as it should. I put on a new coolant overflow cap.

The second owner's moved from Minnesota to South Dakota and were negligent in keeping the original miles on the title. OR, it was exempted at the time due to age, some states do this. Receipts show mileage over the years however. I have a clear Indiana title in my name.

Some interesting and useful information about 1980 red/red L82 Corvettes. All numbers are from the Corvette Black Book. In 1980 GM built 40,614 Corvettes. 5069 (12.5%) were L82's. 5714 (14%) were red. By extrapolation we can conclude that there were only 710 red L82 cars built. There were 7184 (18%) Corvettes with red leather. Again by extrapolation it is probable that only 128 were made with the red on red combination. A good amount of the red cars probably had black interiors, or some other colors that were available. Taking it further, this car came with the optional wider 60 series tires. 13,140 (32%) of all cars had them making this Corvette possibly 1 of 42 in this configuration. How many are as nice as this? Probably none! Car comes with a new car cover and new (non GM) glass tops still in the box.

1980 was the last year for non-computer controlled Corvettes! California cars had 305 engines and some kind of emission computer system. Still, the 1980 L82 picked up 5 horsepower over the 1979 model.

Personally, I love this car in red with red interior. When you say red on red L82 your mind thinks of 1979 and 1980 Corvettes. This is one of the last to be built, number 38575 of 40614. They are only original once, don't settle for anything less.

Sold as-is, no warranty written or implied. Save fees buying privately. I am not a dealer. I will assist your shipper.

The last video I took in the garage trying to show the different reflections and how straight and shiny the car is.

1980 T-Top - Rated 9.5 out of 10 by Vintage Corvettes

Red with Red interior: Small block racing V8 / 3 speed automatic - 45650 miles

1980 L82 rated 9.5 out of 10 by Vintage Corvettes of Kansas City. Red with red leather interior. Two owners. Original owner's manual, keys, and paper invoice. 1980 was the end of the line for Corvettes made at the GM plant in St Louis,Mo and was the last one made without one computer chip. This L82 is all old school muscle car. 1980 Corvettes were made lighter and handle better and are more nimble than the previous C3's. There were 40,614 made for 1980 but only 5,069 were L82's. The L82 came with every option including the famous sleeper engine the 350 racing block V8. Everything works and has several updates. Updates are new carburetor, air conditioning compressor, front parking and rear back-up cameras, Kenwood AM/FM Bluetooth radio with CD player,KN air cleaner, dual chrome tipped mufflers to name a few. 1973 Convertible - 1973 STINGRAY CONVERTIBLE (w/Hardtop)

Yellow with Tan Leather interior: L48 350 / TH-400 - 72860 miles

Proud 18-year owner of this numbers matching 1973 Corvette Roadster that I mechanically restored in 2006-07 with its most recent mechanical repairs with State Inspection September 2022 (see * below for details). The car shows its original yellow exterior with upgraded tan leather deluxe interior trim tag with 72,860 original miles. Original equipment includes: L48/300 hp (rebuild), TH-400 automatic, 3:08 posi-traction, AC, PS, PDB, PW, Map Light, Leather, AM/FM Cassette/Speaker System, Tilt/Telescopic, Luggage Rack, ’69 Side Exhaust, Silent Alarm, and Upgraded Quartz Clock.

I have owed this corvette since November 2005 with 59,800 miles and restored the entire engine, brake, steering, suspension, and exhaust systems between Oct 2006 – May 2007. I showed this Stingray from May 2007 – June 2010 having won several local and Super Chevy shows with one Corvette Best of Show, and served as a rolling promo of my powder coating business I established in 2006 and still operate today. My ’06-’07 restoration included refinishing, restoring, and powder coating as many original and new parts as possible for durability, longevity, easy maintenance, and appearance. Some of the new parts (still on the vehicle today) include:

PA State Inspection valid through September 2023(* see below)
Newer ’69 Side Exhaust Covers
Newer Aluminized Exhaust Pipes
PS cylinder, PS pump, Control Valve, All Belts
Tie rods, Idler Arms, All Hoses

Stainless-steel Brake Lines, Caliper brake shields, Master Brake Cylinder
Jet Performance Stage 1 Quadra jet Carburetor
White Convertible Top
Radiator Core Support
spark plug wires, plugs, coil, battery

KYB Gas-O-Matic Shocks, front and rear
Petronix Ignition Kit
Heater fan switch
Front Spoiler
Rally Wheel Trim Rings
Alternator
Ignition Shield Cover and Side Shields
Fuel Pump

The only immediate remaining repairs are cosmetic which I planned for the spring include new front bumper (which cracked during 2018-2022 season storage), possible carburetor rebuild, and replacing original interior rear compartment carpeting. The car was repainted nearly 30 years ago by a prior owner with lacquer and has held up well showing some spider cracks near the door edges, front right fender, driver door, and antenna (refer to photos). Also, the AC has not worked since I purchased the car in Nov 2005 and I never felt the need to repair it since I always drive with the top down.

For further information, questions, or to receive a link for complete photo album, feel free to contact me at rimzcoat@yahoo.com or text/call Bob at 610-745-2885.

Welcome to THE VETTE NET - Nationwide and International Corvette Brokerage Network, founded in 1998 and Lifetime Business Member of the National Corvette Museum. We are your modern destination when selling and buying Corvettes employing an unique and innovative business model.

Here is a special Corvette with a unique story: for unknown reasons, the original owner who bought it new in 1974, parked it in 1981 with 28K and sat on jackstands properly stored in a garage. The owner passed in 2024 and the car was sold, seeing the light of day after over 40 some years. Needless to say, it was all original and it sustained a thorough rejuvenation process as described down below. First of all, it came well equipped with the base L48 engine, Automatic transmission, Power Windows, Power Brakes, Power Steering. There are lots of documentation and records.

Earlier this year, once brought back to life, the following work was done: new front and rear polyurethane bumpers, new tires, new brake pads and calipers, new master cylinder, new gas tank and sending unit, new fuel pump, rebuilt carburetor, new water pump, new shocks and sway bar bushings, new steering cylinder, new battery, new mufflers, etc. All fluids and filters (oil, transmission, fuel, rear end, brake, power steering, antifreeze). It also had fresh tune-up (plugs, wires, belts, hose, PCV valve, air filter etc). Mechanically, car runs pretty much like new, as it should, with only 28K miles.

Cosmetically, the new bumpers were correctly painted to match, the rest of the paint being original with an exceptional shine. Interior is original and in excellent condition. All gauges, instruments and clock and functional. Undercarriage is very clean as seen in pictures.

Here is your chance to enjoy a desirable Stingray with documented low miles, great pedigree, excellent condition. It comes to you from a private party from the state of MICHIGAN and can be shipped all over the country and the world. We offer financing options and your Corvette trades are considered.
