Corvette Description
Listed for sale is my 1970 Corvette Coupe with 77,800 original miles / Automatic transmission / Original engine Base 350/300hp. The original colors are matching for this car with the Laguna Gray exterior and Black Interior. Options on this car include PS, PB, Tilt-Telescoping, and Air Conditioning.
This corvette is a wonderful example of what can be described as a very nice daily driver or a local car show competitor. This car has practically been completely restored both mechanically and aesthetically. The following items have been replaced with new like for like or better all within the last 200 miles:
• New Chevy Crate Engine – aluminum heads, aluminum intake manifold, Lunati cam, HEI distributor
• New Aluminum Radiator and front core support
• Ceramic coated Hooker headers, exhaust piping, and Thrush Mufflers (all increased to 2-1/2”)
• New Torque Converter
• New Gas Tank
• Rewired Engine Bay
• Rebuilt Differential (3.70 gears)
• New lightweight A/C Compressor
• A/C fan and blower motor. The fan was replaced with a Chevelle type blower (IYKYK)
• Rebuilt steering (i.e., new tie rod ends and new ball joints)
• New shocks
• New brakes - calipers, power brake booster, master cylinder, hoses
• Full size spare tire and rally wheel
• 4 New Rally Wheels, center caps, and rings
• New front chrome bumper (the good one)
Other items which have also been replaced at one point include:
• New DIY in-dash stereo with AM, FM, and CD. Rear 6/9 speakers in boxes
• Newer carpet and floor mats
• Paint – base coat / clear coat (8/10)
• Interior – All replaced with like for like materials
• Steering Wheel – smaller diameter with thicker grip (original steering wheel goes with the car)
• Leather “Corvette” console pad
Original Engine
I do have the original complete engine for the car, and it is all included in the sale of the car. It may not take much to get the original engine up to snuff, as it was running whenever I replaced it; however, it may need a complete overhaul to make it totally reliable. The engine was making a knocking sound in the bottom end when I replaced it. The point is the engine should be a good candidate for a rebuild, as there was no known damage done to the block or to the heads before it was replaced.
Pricing:
Currently, Hagerty Insurance lists the value for this car at $35,900 (Class #3, Good Condition) with all applicable options for this car. I am asking $31,900 to get it sold as soon as possible. I am somewhat negotiable on the price, however. Serious buyers only – no tire kickers, time wasters, joy riders, check with the wifeys, etc. Bring either cash or we can go to the bank together to obtain a Cashier’s Check, and this beautiful car can be yours.
All Sales Final – No Warranty, No Refunds Included nor Implied
