Up for sale is this iconic 1963 Split Window Coupe. 

This car has been owned for 20 plus years by the current owner, who has meticulously maintained the car.

In 2017, the body and paint was completely redone at Ron’s Auto Restoration in Fitchburg, MA

In 2024, a complete chassis restoration was completed for show quality N.C.R.S. preparation.

Through the years, the interior was also fully upgraded to new, using all the correct quality restoration parts available.

This car still has the “Born With” Original Engine with all the Matching Numbers.

Years back the automatic transmission was replaced with a Muncie 4-speed to give a more performance feel.

The car is gorgeous Sebring Silver with the Dark Blue interior, very desirable investment quality car.

1966 Corvette 427/425hp. 4 speed. TI Ignition.  One family owned for the past 24 years -  Finished in beautiful Rally Red with Black interior.  This highly desirable classic comes with its number matching L-72 engine and transmission - Casting Number: 3869942.  Optioned with knock off wheels and side exhaust. Up for sale is my very well documented 3 owner and well equipped 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible w/ Factory Air Conditioning, #'s matching, Two Top car and believed to be an accurate 57k miles, prior restoration in 2007/2008 and have a binder of receipts/docs/restoration photos, etc. of roughly $30k at that time. This is an original 327/300 HP numbers matching engine w/ a factory Powerglide Automatic transmission and a working factory A/C. Car is also equipped w/ Two Tops (white soft top and white hard top), power steering, Powerglide trans, power antenna, repro knock offs, correct size Coker Gold Line radials and rare White/Blue interior. Not sure where to start but this car is stunning and A VERY neat find. It is a spectacular and correct example. Must see the quality of this car. Engine pad reads (6107095 F1123HO). Believed to have 57,500 actual miles per prior owner. Retains the original body VIN and trim tag and colors correct. Build date code is D16, A.O. Smith body (Nov 16th, 1965) and the 7095th 1966 Corvette built. Correct color trim code is Ermine White (900CC Paint) w/ the rare White and Blue Vinyl interior (450 Trim). It was the 2,267th Convertible built (S2267 Body). The body lines, door and panel gaps, panel straightness and alignment excellent. Weatherstripping, chrome, brightwork and glass in excellent shape as well. All ignition shielding and distributor shielding intact. The radio and clock work great and the headlights open and close w/ ease. All interior lights work as well and in need of nothing. I have a reproduced copy of the window sticker showing a sales price of $5990.45 in 1966. Optioned with a White/Blue interior (450), 4 Season Air Conditioning (C60), Powerglide Transmission (M35), factory power steering (N40), both Ermine White Hard top (C07) and White Soft top (C05), Positrac (G81), tinted glass (A01) and Am/Fm radio (U69). The owners manual, binder of restoration docs/pics, jack, lug wrench, trickle charger and extra keys come w/ purchase. Has basically new reproduction knockoffs and excellent Coker Goldline radials. Great idle and car is tight and solid. This is a well preserved and investment grade car that has been in a climate controlled garage. This 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe was produced on February 24th, 1967, in St. Louis, Missouri, and delivered to Gladding Chevrolet. The Corvette was purchased on March 9th, 1967, by Mr. Vernon Rankin Hoover of Pasadena, Maryland, from Gladding Chevrolet, validated by a copy of the car's purchase agreement. Mr. Hoover received an $812.75 discount on the Corvette and put a $50 deposit down on his new car.

Dressed in stunning Marlboro Maroon with a Black Stinger Hood and Black Leather Interior Trim, it was equipped with the L68 427/400 HP Tripower Engine, Muncie M21 Close-Ratio Transmission, G81 Positraction Rear Axle, N14 Side-Mounted Dual Exhaust, and K66 Transistorized Ignition. Mr. Hoover was ready to roam the streets in his “wolf in wolf’s clothing” new Corvette—and he did, as validated by the traffic ticket included in the sale from March 12th, 1967. After owning the Corvette for just four days, Vernon was cited for an illegal exhaust system. After contacting the dealership about this issue, he was told the Corvette had an "Off-Road Exhaust System" and that the dealership was not responsible.

This triggered Mr. Hoover to write a letter to GM complaining about the illegal side exhaust after purchasing the Corvette and being overcharged for exhaust silencers by the service department. Mr. Hoover received a response from General Motors, and both letters are included in the sale.

Mr. Hoover was very detail-oriented, which can be seen by the spectacular display of original documentation accompanying this Corvette, including the purchase agreement from new, the original NCRS-validated Window Sticker, the original NCRS-validated Tank Sticker, a handwritten fuel and mileage logbook, and countless receipts dating back to the 1960s and 1970s.

The Corvette was purchased in 2022 by a national-level NCRS judge and received a comprehensive frame-off restoration completed in 2023. All components were restored to factory appearance and functionality. Once finished, the Corvette was ready to hit the show field on the national judging circuit. A Bloomington Gold OEM Award was achieved on January 10th, 2024, followed by an NCRS Regional Top Flight Award at the NCRS Florida Regional Meet on January 20th, 2024, with an impressive score of 99.0. From there, the car was taken to the NCRS Northeast Regional Meet in June 2024, where it passed its Performance Verification on the first try (one of the most difficult awards to achieve in the Corvette hobby).

Included in the sale are all judging sheets and awards, as well as a CCAS Trim Tag Affirmation Certificate, CCAS Engine Crankcase Affirmation Certificate, NCRS-validated Tank Sticker, NCRS-validated Window Sticker, the original Certificate of Title, the letter from Mr. Hoover to GM (and their response), a mileage log and maintenance log, original service receipts, and all original books, including the owner's manual, radio manual, wheel trim ring instructions, warranty book, and Protect-O-Plate.

It was delivered new to Courtesy Chevrolet in Los Angeles, California, and ordered with performance in mind. Dressed in Riverside Red with a Black Vinyl Interior and a Body-Color Auxiliary Hardtop, the options list includes the L84 327/360 HP Fuel Injected Engine, M20 Muncie 4-Speed Manual Transmission, G81 Positraction Rear Axle (4:11 Ratio), C07 Auxiliary Hardtop, P91 Black Sidewall Tires, U65 AM Signal Seek Radio, A01 Tinted Glass, N11 Off-Road Exhaust, and a Black Convertible Top.

All systems have been restored or rebuilt to concours condition with many NOS and original parts used.

This Fuelie was taken on the National Judging Circuit in 2017 and achieved a Bloomington Gold Award. Having spent most of its life in California, the car retained its original California Black Plate at the time of restoration. Also included in the sale is a purchase agreement from the famed high-performance dealership Harry Mann Chevrolet in Los Angeles, California, where this Corvette was sold as a used car in 1966, along with photos and videos of the restoration process, photos of the vehicle before restoration, a reproduction window sticker, all books, and a plaque with the Bloomington Gold Award.
